Farewell List

Farewell List, my ninth book.
Lista de Despedida, mi noveno libro.
Liste d’Adieu, mon neuvième livre.

I remember my mother, who died aged 58, in 1999, say ‘keep away from me my son lest you get a contagion’. She never went to school.

La Profumeuse

When my daughter was born, I decided to publish my first book ‘An unexpected intruder’ in 2009, a novel in Spanish, my first foreign language, which I learnt by myself. As I met people from all over the world, I had the idea to write in four different languages. In 2010, I published ‘Salam’, in 2013, ‘Omnia’, in 2015, ‘120’, in 2016 ‘Nadima’, in 2017 ‘What’s up?’, in 2018 ‘Sad Sauce’ and in 2020 ‘La Profumeuse’, stories in Arabic, English, Spanish and French. As a writer , I hope to leave a clear and sincere message before passing away. I am a simple and humble man, a slave of our times. I love peace like you all and I think one can find it in a good book.

Sad Sauce

My seventh book to come!

Sad Sauce’ is my seventh book. The story reflects part of my life. Sadness is its main ingredient. I am mostly sad for others, who cannot afford their least needs. Whereas, some complain about their tiny pocket money of 500€ a day, I spent seven years of my youth living on less than two euros a day. Suicide cases have in-creased lately in our society be-cause of its tendency to individual-ism. While most of us waste money on gambling, smoking, drinking alcohol, taking drugs… poor peo-ple suffer silently on the margin. Indeed, sad sauce is the main meal for the majority, who bleed to quench the rich thirst of wealth.

Interviews

When my daughter was born, I decided to publish my first book ‘An unexpected intruder’ in 2009, a novel in Spanish, my first foreign language, which I learnt by myself. In 2010, I published ‘Salam’, in 2013, ‘Omnia’, in 2015, ‘120’, in 2016 ‘Nadima’ and in 2017 ‘What’s up?’ stories in Arabic, English, Spanish and French. A very kind Moroccan journalist from Anadolu Agency, Hind Subai idrissi, contacted me for an interview. Thanks to her article my story shined.  Between 2015 and 2016 I was invited by 2M, Aljazeera, BBC Arabic and Cap Radio for an interview. I was exhausted by over-work and pain through my whole body. It was strange. In those years ‘2014-2016’ when the neighboring car-park closed for restoration and I had to face hundreds of cars and furious drivers daily for more than 10 hours, I received calls from TV, Radio and newspapers.  I used to give my books to tourists and people I know. Since then, people came to congratulate me and ask me about my books. Some even pay me well. Thanks to their help, I was able to pay 17 000 € ‘extortion’ for the damages mad drivers left behind in the two years chaos as the car-park is not insured by the boss who cares only about the revenue. The latter became crazy after I appeared on TV. He has been taking measures of repression against me since then. All I wish is that he could stop smoking to recover and pay me well!

In 2009, I published my first novel
‘An Unexpected Intruder’ in Spanish,
my first foreign language, which I learnt by myself.
In 2010, I published ‘Salam’, in 2013 ‘Omnia’, in 2015 ‘120’ and in 2016 ‘Nadima’,
stories in Arabic, English, Spanish and French.
As a writer, I wish to leave a sincere and clear message before passing away.
In fact, I never stopped reading and writing in order to publish my books.
Self-publishing is an expensive adventure. Writing in four different languages is a hard task.
But, the will to publish my writings challenged all the obstacles.
I thank all of you who encourage me to continue.
I could not do it without your help.
Those who try to humiliate me inflame my wish to succeed.
I do it all with love. I do not pretend to be a dedicated artist,
nor a persevering writer. I am a simple and humble man, a slave of our times.
I love peace like you all and I think one can find it in a good book.

An Unexpected Intruder

He smoked too much. His job fears absorbed him. In one of their disputes on the topic, his wife alluded to deception. He fainted at the first time in his life. She ran and helped him sit on a chair. She did not know what to do. The first that occurred to her was to call an ambulance. He was diagnosed with cancer. He spent twenty years smoking the damn American tobacco. There was no room for remorse. He had to face his destiny with all his faith. Illness never asks for permission. Death either.
– I already have a foot in the tomb, haven’t I doctor?
– Keep hope alive.
After he had known it, he had the obligation to tell his wife about it. She always begged him to stop smoking. Not only did he lose money, he also risked his health. The prediction of his wife was true. Tobacco ended up winning the battle.

Fumaba mucho. No sabía qué hacer.
